Hattelmalanjärvi is a small lake in the village of Hattelmala in Hämeenlinna. The area belongs to the natura 2000 regions. Bird Tower of Hattelmalanjärvi is a popular hiking destination. The lake's nesting birds include, among others, the red-necked grebe, slavonian grebe, northern shoveler and common pochard. Hattelmalanjärvi is a diverse bird lake and an important resting place for migratory birds. The lake is accessible along a forest trail from a parking lot located off the intersection of Highway 10 and Aleksis Kiven Katu. On the way to the bird observation tower there is a nature trail with borads telling about the nature and animals around lake Hattelmalanjärvi.
