Join us to hear about the demolition project for the Ykköskortteli Block
Demolition work on the Ykköskortteli Block in the centre of Hämeenlinna will begin in November 2026. The city is organising an information event open to everyone on Wednesday, 11 November 2026 at 6:00 PM in the auditorium of Wetter City Hall, at Wetterhoffinkatu 2. It is also possible to join the event remotely via Teams.
The event will cover the progress of the Ykköskortteli Block demolition project, the stages of the demolition work, and its effects on traffic, residents, and businesses in the area. Participants will also get a look at future plans for the area.
Representatives from the demolition contractor and the city’s facility services will present the practical execution of the demolition work, its stages, and the project’s impacts. The property director will then present the future outlook for the Ykköskortteli Block.
At the end of the event, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the project with the experts.
The event is free of charge and open to everyone. No advance registration is required.
