Plan ahead – housing anticipation course begins in October

Are you considering your own housing situation or that of an elderly loved one? Would you like advice and tips on the subject? The City of Hämeenlinna’s housing advisory service for the elderly is organizing a housing anticipation course this autumn, as well as a discussion evening on housing anticipation specifically aimed at relatives.

Housing anticipation course

What do you hope for from your housing now and in the future? Anticipation is planning for the future; an opportunity to consider your own needs and wishes well in advance. A safe home promotes well-being, improves quality of life, and enables independent living even in old age. Come and hear more and exchange thoughts on housing anticipation at this free course!

The course held in the spring received praise from participants and provided tools for planning their own housing:

“I received a lot of information and food for thought regarding my future housing options. It was also nice to hear the experiences and opinions of others.”

The housing anticipation course is held at Kumppanuustalo, group room 103 (address: Kirjastokatu 1). The course includes three meetings, which take place on Tuesday 20 October, 3 November, and 17 November from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Please register by 18 October, primarily by email at ikaantyvien.asumisneuvonta@hameenlinna.fi. The course can accommodate 25 participants.

Supporting a loved one through changes – discussion evening on housing anticipation

How can you support an elderly loved one with housing-related decisions? What things are important to take into account? How do you bring up the topic of housing or concerns about managing at home? Join us to discuss and receive information on housing anticipation.

The discussion evening on housing anticipation aimed at relatives of the elderly will be held on Tuesday 27 October from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kumppanuustalo, group room 103 (address: Kirjastokatu 1). No advance registration is required. A warm welcome to all!
