Award-winning! Smart Work 2025: The Superhero Method

Do you know who or what the VERY best superhero is? Well, it is a friend, of course!
The Superhero Method was created as a byproduct of a social skills project for five-year-olds in the Pääskyset group (ages 1–5) at Kaivokatu Daycare Centre. The method is a series of easily implemented tasks involving children, the group, and families, inspiring friendship and heroic ways of acting. The method is based on a PDF file illustrated by children, which works either as it is or as an introduction to a broader inspiration and immersion in the theme.
These most skilled superheroes are able to change the world, especially together!
The PDF file contains a more detailed description of the method’s origins and theoretical background. There is a high demand for similar exercises that strengthen social skills across Finland, so the Superhero Method is being shared through national early childhood education and care networks. The method links to the recent recommendations for bullying prevention from FINEEC, and a webinar on the topic, for example, is planned for early 2025.
