Smart Work 2027: Close to Nature!

The Smart Work page presents everyday innovations and success stories developed by the employees of the City of Hämeenlinna.

In Alvettula, we live in the heart of the most beautiful Häme countryside! We realized that we have been utilizing its offerings in our teaching quite naturally. Examples of this include our numerous trips to the nearby terrain and outdoor classroom teaching – with an active lifestyle being our other strength. From these basic elements, a desire arose to develop our activities further. We decided to profile ourselves as a nature-oriented school.

The development work continued by creating an annual cycle to structure the teaching. It describes experiential nature activities to be carried out during different seasons. At the same time, we successfully networked with partners such as Proagria, Vanajavesikeskus, MTK-Hauho, local fishing and hunting clubs, the Hauho Savings Bank Foundation, and local businesses. These parties have truly enriched our activities!

We believe that we have succeeded in deepening the pupils’ relationship with nature, brightening up daily life, and gaining another way to look after the pupils’ physical fitness. We continue to develop and utilize the annual cycle, introducing new content with the help of new partners.
