Smart Work 2027: Developing the “Fast to Work” Initial Process
The Smart Work page presents everyday innovations and success stories developed by the employees of the City of Hämeenlinna.
Rapid employment requires job seeking to start agilely right at the beginning of the customer relationship. A team of about ten people developed the “Fast to Work” process, which aims to get a new jobseeker’s job search off to a quick and efficient start.
The starting point for the development work was the need to make the first months of the customer relationship as smooth as possible and, above all, supportive of employment. The new operating model covers the first 1–3 months of the customer relationship and includes initial service, employment workshops, TyöBuusti, and job placement services.
By law, the employment area must draw up a job-search plan within ten days of registering as a jobseeker. In the new process, the goal is to act even faster. The customer is contacted and job placement is started immediately, ideally on the very day of registration.
The team is responsible for the continuity of the operating model and continues to develop it. Next, the development work will expand to cover months 4–6 of the customer relationship. The goal is to prevent prolonged unemployment, find solutions for the customer’s situation, and strengthen the jobseeker’s own activity in their job search.
