Smart Work 2027: Website and press release agents supporting content creators
The Smart Work page showcases everyday innovations and success stories developed by the City of Hämeenlinna’s employees.
In connection with the website redesign, we identified a need to make everyday work easier for content creators and to ensure the quality of web content. Content production is carried out by a large group of experts from different fields, who do not necessarily have expertise in communications or plain language. The idea was to use AI as a practical aid, making it easier and faster to produce high-quality, accessible, and consistent content.
The website agent and press release agent were created to support staff content production during the website redesign. The agents are based on plain language guidelines and Hämeenlinna’s brand book. They guide users to produce content that is understandable, consistent, and friendly to both search engines and AI. In addition to finished text, the agents identify missing information, suggest heading structures and meta descriptions, and explain the changes they make, which helps develop users’ skills and improves the quality of content.
The agents have sped up content production and lowered the barrier to writing, especially for experts whose main job is not communications. Users get support with structure, headings, plain language, and accessibility considerations. The agents have increased consistency across web pages and press releases, and freed up time for actual expert work.
The agents are continuously developed based on user feedback and experiences. The goal is to expand their use to new communication and content production needs and to keep the guidelines up to date. The current agents have been built with Copilot, but we are also testing communication agents built on the Intric platform to find the best solutions to support staff work.
