Vt 3 Moreeni interchange to open to traffic ahead of schedule in Hämeenlinna
The Vt 3 Moreeni interchange in Hämeenlinna will open to traffic in the afternoon of 24 September 2026. The interchange will be completed ahead of schedule, as the project was previously expected to be finished in November 2026.
In addition to the ramps of the new interchange and the Moreeni overpass, Taipaleentie, Moreenikatu, and Graniittikatu will also be opened to traffic. At the same time, a parking area designed for HCT vehicles (high-capacity vehicle combinations) will open, along with new pedestrian and cycling connections. The new alignment of Highway 130 has already been in use since November 2025. Only minor finishing works remain, along with the demolition of the Lähdelampi rest area on the northern side, which will begin after the new parking area opens. The remaining work will be completed during October.
