Transfer application
If you wish to transfer your child to another daycare centre or family daycare place, you must apply for the transfer using an electronic application. If you are not satisfied with the early childhood education and care place you have been offered, you can submit a transfer application as soon as you have accepted the place offered to your child. Transfer applications are generally processed twice a year. The start date will then be either in August or January. We will contact you via Suomi.fi messages when the application is taken into processing. The application is valid for one year.
A transfer application can be made from one private daycare centre to another, from a private daycare centre to a municipal daycare centre, and from a municipal daycare centre to a private daycare centre.
A transfer application is considered to be an application where the child already has an existing early childhood education and care place in the city. Children transferring from private family daycare to a daycare centre are processed as new applications, not as transfer applications.
Cancellation of an early childhood education and care place
An early childhood education and care place must be cancelled well in advance via the electronic service. Cancellation cannot be made retrospectively. Remember to also inform the staff of the children’s group at the daycare centre and/or the daycare centre manager about the cancellation.
A service voucher must also be cancelled well in advance and cannot be cancelled retrospectively. Remember to also submit a cancellation notice to the private daycare centre, where the notice period stated in the agreement will be observed.
