Our school is located in the village of Eteläinen, which is in the area of the former municipality of Hauho, approximately 15 kilometres from the centre of Hämeenlinna. Our school is a primary school with around 70 pupils.
We want every pupil to feel seen and heard at our school. Our school’s most important values are:
- community spirit,
- equality, and
- educational partnership.
A school at the heart of the village
Our school is an important part of the Eteläinen village community, and it is easy for everyone to come here – pupils, staff, and guardians alike. Meals are served in the school’s dining hall, which is also used by pre-schoolers from the adjacent Eteläinen Daycare Centre.
Our school is known for its excellent team spirit and proactive attitude.
We have:
- 69 pupils,
- Grade 1, grade 2, and two combined classes for grades 3-4 and grades 5-6,
- four class teachers, one resource teacher, two visiting language teachers, a visiting special educational needs teacher, one school assistant, one after-school club instructor, and a visiting after-school club instructor (on Thursdays)
- afternoon club
- a parents’ association.
