Ahvenisto outdoor swimming pool

Uimarinkatu 14, 13100 Hämeenlinna.

The historic Ahvenisto outdoor swimming pool offers a magnificent setting for swimming and spending summer days in a scenic esker landscape. Built for the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, the pool served as the venue for the modern pentathlon swimming events and is currently one of the best-known sports facilities in Hämeenlinna.

The 50-meter pool has eight lanes, providing ample space for both fitness swimming and refreshing summer dips. The pool water is heated to approximately 26°C, and the facility also features a 10-meter diving tower with various diving platforms. The outdoor swimming pool is accessible, and the pool can be reached by wheelchair via a lift.

Renovated in 2014, the outdoor swimming pool honors the original 1950s architecture and Olympic history. It is located next to Lake Ahvenistonjärvi and diverse outdoor trails, making it easy to combine swimming with other exercise and nature activities.

Apparan Elämyskeskus Oy is responsible for the operation of the outdoor swimming pool. Current opening hours, admission fees, and other practical information can be found on the pool’s own website.
