Karhumäki is a warm and homelike daycare centre where every child is treated as an individual and cooperation with families is an important part of daily life. The daycare centre has three groups of children, and the advantage of a small community is a familiar, safe, and communal atmosphere where children, families, and staff all know one another.
We actively go on excursions in various learning environments, make use of the wooded yard area and the daycare centre’s own campfire hut, and strengthen the children’s relationship with nature daily. As a Green Flag daycare centre, our activities are based on a sustainable lifestyle, environmental and nature education, and versatile physical activity.
At Karhumäki, the emphasis is on doing things together, peer learning, children’s participation, and well-being. Our goal is to provide every child with inspiring learning experiences, opportunities to move and explore their environment, and to grow in a safe and encouraging community.
