Vanai Bistro & Bastu

Vanai Bistro & Bastu brings people, food, and life to Hämeenlinna’s Varikonniemi, an area that has supplied the Finnish army and public with food since the 1920s. A hundred years later, the former garage and laundry of the Mensa canning factory has become an urban meeting place: a bistro restaurant, cocktail bar, event venue, terrace, and sauna.

Vanai is located along Hämeenlinna’s waterfront route, often praised as the most beautiful in Finland, just a stone’s throw from the railway station and the city centre. Vanai also offers inspiring meeting and event spaces. Our facilities include a restaurant hall (70 people) and the Fireplace Cabinet (29 people) – all adaptable to different types of events.

Your meeting day can be complemented with delicious catering, designed to make your planning easier. In addition to our ready-made meeting packages, we also create customised solutions to suit your wishes.

Would you like to combine your meeting with relaxation? Vanai’s traditional log sauna with an outdoor hot tub offers the perfect place for recovery and networking for a group of about 15 people. The surrounding nature and the city’s other attractions also provide versatile options for additional programmes alongside your event.
