Housing counselling for the elderly

Housing counselling for older adults provides you with information and support for making and implementing the housing solutions you need. Housing counselling that takes functional capacity into account helps promote the well-being of older adults and their ability to manage everyday life.

Proactive housing counselling offers personal advice and guidance on housing matters. The counselling is free of charge for older residents of Hämeenlinna and their close ones, regardless of housing form or dwelling type.

Housing needs change along with life situations, ageing, and changes in functional capacity. Preparing for changes in housing should begin in good time, allowing you to explore the various options at your own pace and leaving enough time to carry out the changes and adjust to the new situation. At its best, timely and proactive planning and implementation of housing changes makes it possible to live safely and in a way that suits you, helps maintain functional capacity, and reduces the need for assistance.
