Kotofoorumi is an integration forum event concept facilitated by the City of Hämeenlinna that provides an open space for discussion and encounters. The objective is to strengthen the sense of community and increase understanding between different residents, communities and actors.
Events are organized twice a year, and each occasion is built around the organizers’ own themes. Kotofoorumi may highlight everyday life, services, culture, phenomena, participation or perspectives on various life situations and city development.

diverse backgrounds and perspectives are heard
current themes related to cities are addressed
mutual understanding, trust and everyday safety are strengthened
Kotofoorumi is part of the City of Hämeenlinna’s long-term efforts to build Hämeenlinna for Everyone – a city where everyone can feel they belong.
Who can organize a Kotofoorumi event?
The event may be implemented by any party wishing to promote dialogue and collective action: an association, educational institution, community, volunteer group, company or resident. The organizer selects the theme and shapes the event according to their own objectives.
Support provided by the city
The City of Hämeenlinna provides Kotofoorumi organizers with:
facilities (e.g., Kumppanuustalo, library)
support for multilingual communication
the Kotofoorumi brand, which clarifies and strengthens the event
Cooperation between the city and organizers ensures that events are accessible, safe and open to all.
