Practical matters

Studying at Aimokoulu is easy and carefree. This page compiles the most important practical instructions for families.

Clothing and equipment

At Aimokoulu, art and crafts are made with various materials, so clothes may get dirty. An old shirt works well as a work smock, and aprons are available at the school. We use slippers or indoor shoes indoors, as Aimokoulu is a shoe-free environment.

Dropping off and picking up

Guardians of Aimokoulu students of all ages are welcome to visit the classroom before and after lessons. It is always a pleasure to meet families in person. Teachers are happy to share what has been done in lessons and what is coming next.

Aimokoulu is located at Verkatehdas, on the third and fifth floors of College Building (Opistotalo). You can find more information about arriving at Verkatehdas and parking in the Verkatehdas instructions (in Finnish).

Absences

You can report an absence to the teacher via email or text message. If a student is absent twice without notification, the teacher will inquire about absences with the guardian.

Fees and invoices

Basic art education groups

  • For initial and basic groups aged 5-10, the term fee (half a school year) is €125.
  • For extensive workshops for older students, basic education workshops, and advanced studies, €139 per school year.

Other groups

  • Baby colour workshop, the price for a 6-session package is €66.
  • Shape play, price €130 per school year.

The invoice for the school year is sent out in autumn shortly after the autumn break, and in spring in March after the winter holiday. For more information regarding debt collection and invoice payments, please contact Provincia Oy.

Registrations

Register your child for the group corresponding to their birth year. Students over 12 years old study in workshops with students of various ages. You can choose a workshop based on your own interests.

A student place in basic art education is permanent. Once enrolled, no separate registration is required for future school years. In spring, we will ask for your plans for the following autumn. If we do not receive information about changes, we will assume that studies will continue in the familiar group.

Using Eepos

All Aimokoulu students must have an Eepos account activated. The guardian’s account is convenient, as all Aimokoulu students in the family can be managed under one account.

If you do not have an Eepos account for Aimokoulu, please contact Antti Hämäläinen.

Through Eepos you can

  • change contact information
  • monitor study progress
  • check group information and schedules
  • read messages from teachers and lesson updates
  • Send Eepos messages to the teacher and other Aimokoulu staff. You can also send messages directly via email or phone.
  • view photos taken during lessons
  • download animations, videos, and digital works at home

Concluding studies

If you wish to discontinue basic art education studies, please inform your teacher or the Aimokoulu office. You can also take a break from your studies.
