Request for inspection and rectification
You have the right to inspect and manage your own personal data. The scope of what you can request depends on the purpose for which your data is processed. However, you are always entitled to receive information regarding what data has been stored about you and how it is being used.
What can you request?
You may request that incorrect information be rectified or that incomplete information be supplemented. If certain information is not necessary, you may request its erasure.
You may also request the erasure of your data or its transfer to another system. However, this does not apply to situations where the processing of data is based on legislation or the performance of official duties by an authority.
If you suspect that there is an error in your data, you may request the restriction of its processing for the duration of the investigation into the matter.
Furthermore, you may object to the processing of your data based on a reason related to your personal situation. If the processing is based on public interest or the exercise of official authority, the data may still be processed if there is a compelling and justified reason for doing so.
If you feel that your personal data is being processed unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. The complaint must be made in accordance with the instructions provided by the supervisory authority.
How do you make a request?
Submit your request primarily using the electronic form, which requires strong authentication, such as online banking credentials. When you use the electronic form, your request is transferred directly for processing, and there is no need to print or send it separately.
You may use the following forms:
You may also make a request in the form of a free-form letter. In such cases, state clearly which data the request concerns and sign the request manually. Deliver it to the Registry of the department responsible for the matter.
Processing time and possible fees
Your request will be processed without undue delay, and no later than one month from its arrival.
If the request is extensive or complex, the processing time may be extended by a maximum of two months.
The disclosure of data is, as a rule, free of charge. If a request is manifestly unfounded or made repeatedly, the City may charge a fee for it or refuse to process it. In such cases, you will receive a written justification for the decision along with instructions on how to proceed with the matter.
