You can rent moorings for motorised boats and numbered spots for rowboats, and buy storage rights in beaching spots from the city. There are boat launch sites at Lepaanranta and on the shore of Vanajaniemi.

The orange-and-white city boats are a local speciality of Hämeenlinna. City boats free to use for everyone—all you need to bring are your own life jackets and a bailer!
Restrictions on using motors at Lake Aulangonjärvi and Lake Katumajärvi
We would like to remind all boaters that the use of internal-combustion engines is prohibited on Lake Aulangonjärvi and Lake Katumajärvi. On Lake Aulangonjärvi, the use of electric motors is also prohibited.
