Hämeenlinna HYTE Survey and Reports
A survey was conducted among Hämeenlinna residents in December 2020 to map wellbeing, health and lifestyles. The aim of the survey is to support the promotion of wellbeing in the city and to help develop services according to residents’ needs.
The survey used key questions from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare’s FinSOTE survey. FinSOTE is a national survey that monitors the wellbeing and health of Finns.
Only those questions from the 2020 results that have been used in the city’s wellbeing report have been reported. The survey was repeated in 2021 and 2022 so that changes can be monitored.
Reports 2020–2025
An abridged version of the reports is also available. In it, results are not presented separately by age and gender, but as a more concise whole.
Employment Statistics
Employment statistics have transitioned to the TyöHäme Employment Area era. The default area in Työllisyysguru is now TyöHäme, but users can change their own area and comparison areas from the top right corner. The adaptation of labour market support municipal share reporting to the new era is still in progress in the application.
Työllisyysguru is intended as a tool for data-driven management in the region, which can be used by experts and decision-makers in organisations as well as the media and residents. The information is used to monitor objectives, develop services and communicate the employment situation.
Integration Statistics
The integration statistics application provides information on foreigners and foreign-language speakers regarding population structure, population size, and statistics on employment, education and housing. You can select the area under review and comparison areas from among the 20 largest cities on the site.
The site is intended as a data-driven management tool for those working with Hämeenlinna’s integration services.
Child-Friendly Hämeenlinna
The Child-Friendly Hämeenlinna programme was drawn up in 2020. A monitoring tool was developed to support the programme, bringing together information on the wellbeing of children and young people.
The monitoring tool is based in particular on data from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare’s School Health Promotion Study. It also draws on Statistics Finland data and other statistical information collected by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. In this way, the tool provides a broad and up-to-date overall picture of the situation of children and young people in Hämeenlinna.
The tool is designed to monitor the objectives of the Child-Friendly Hämeenlinna programme. It supports a shared situational awareness among experts and decision-makers and helps compare Hämeenlinna with other regions.
The situational awareness supports service planning and facilitates cooperation with the wellbeing services county.
For residents, the tool offers an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the state of children’s and young people’s wellbeing and its development.
