Digitalisation in learning

Digital technology is an integral part of modern life. Its use is an essential civic skill that should be practised safely under adult guidance.

Digital literacy skills are taught and practised across the board, from early childhood education through to primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary education.

Digital skills play a significant role not only in everyday life but also in preparing for upper secondary education, where studies today are largely digital (electronic learning materials and environments, simulators, learning services, and matriculation examinations). Basic education ensures that every learner acquires sufficient fundamental digital skills before moving on to the upper secondary level, ensuring everyone has equal opportunities to succeed in further studies. Basic education follows guidelines for the pedagogical use of digital technology to ensure that digitalisation is utilised correctly in learning.
