Absences of children and young people are a matter that concerns the entire school community.
Hämeenlinna utilises an operating model for prolonged absences, which provides all adults and parents working with children and young people with the means to support them in their daily school attendance.
To make the monitoring of absences easier, the Wilma Noti service has been introduced in Hämeenlinna. With Noti, information regarding a pupil’s absences will be sent automatically as a monthly Wilma message to guardians, teachers, and the principal once the number of absences exceeds pre-defined limits (30, 50, and 100 hours). Once the automatic notification of exceeded absences has been received, the teacher will contact the guardians regarding further measures.
