Arrival and accessibility

You can enter Rantareitti at many different points. You can leave your car, for example, in the Pööli car park opposite the railway station at Varikonniementie 3.

Rantareitti is almost entirely accessible. The route is intersected by the railway bridge, which is steep and can be slippery due to its wooden sections. There are very gentle slopes on the route with a gradient of approximately 6–10%. Otherwise, the route is wide, flat and accessible.

Near the main health centre, the route can be taken via the Viipurintie street to avoid the steep climb next to the Viipurintie bridge.

The Kalstuspuisto fishing spot, located on Rantareitti, has a campfire site and pier. The path to the fishing spot is relatively accessible, consisting of a flat and firm gravel walkway. There is a gentle slope before the boardwalk.

The site features a wooden boardwalk with no obstructive gaps. There is accessible entry to the boardwalk from both ends of the gravel path. The route has adequate protective edges and a handrail. The boardwalk includes a passing and resting place equipped with a bench. The resting area is accessibly connected to the route.

The seat height of the bench outside the walkway is 45cm. The bench has a backrest, and there is open legroom at the front of the seat.

The boardwalk leads accessibly to the campfire site and the pier.

The campfire site is accessible and features a smoke hood. The surface of the campfire site is flat and firm, and there is a non-combustible base under the fire pit. The height of the fire pit from the ground is 73cm, and it is accessibly reachable. Three separate grill grates are adjustable and can be swung away from the fire.

The campfire site is surrounded by a narrow (19.5cm) bench without a backrest, which has a seat height of 45cm.

There are no height differences on the walkway from the boardwalk to the pier; its ramps are sufficiently gentle, and there is enough space on the pier. The ramps are clearly distinguishable from the surroundings with sufficient contrast. The ramps do not have protective edges.

The area is illuminated.
