Castle Park
The centrepiece of Linnanpuisto is the medieval Häme Castle, which provides a grand backdrop for the many summer events held in the park.
Outside of the concerts and other public events held on the Linnanpuisto event stage, the park is a popular summer destination. Visitors spend their leisure time in Linnanpuisto, for example, by enjoying a picnic on the lawn in the sunshine or by playing various outdoor games.
Right next to the area is the small Eino Leino Park, which is considered an integral part of the Linnanpuisto park area.
Although Häme Castle is an archaeological heritage site, the surrounding parks were built on reclaimed land, mainly in the late 1960s. An extensive renovation of the area was carried out during 2024–2026. The completely redesigned park emphasises open views and the castle’s position in the landscape, diverse vegetation and renewed trees, as well as high-quality lounging and activity areas. The area includes a large fenced playground, sports and games courts, an outdoor gym, and pleasant seating areas. Lighting, furniture, and recreational services located near the shore make the park an attractive year-round destination.
Linnanpuisto as an event venue
The wide and open area of Linnanpuisto offers an excellent setting for organising outdoor events. The park hosts large and well-known annual events, such as Wanaja Festival, Häme Medieval Festival, Mellakka Festival, and the Linnajazz park concert. Would you also like to organise an event in the area?
