Hämeensaari Park

There are six accessible parking spaces in the swimming centre’s courtyard, located relatively close to the entrance. The accessible spaces are clearly marked with wheelchair symbols. The surface materials of the parking spaces are even and firm.

The beach can be reached via two routes from both sides of the swimming centre. The routes are sufficiently wide, firm, and even. Surfaces consist of asphalt, paving, and sand or gravel. The distance from the nearest accessible parking space to the accessible swimming ramp is 220 m.

There are two dry toilets on the beach, one of which has sufficient space for users with mobility impairments. The toilet does not meet all accessibility criteria.

The swimming area is free of aquatic vegetation. There is sufficient clear space in front of the ramp. The swimming ramp is connected to the route surface accessibly without level differences, and the width of the ramp is 108 cm. The ramp has protective edges in accordance with recommendations. The swimming ramp features handrails at two heights to assist with transfers. The green ramp on land provides good contrast, while the swimming ramp itself is less distinct. The ramp descends into the water at a gradient of approximately 8.5–11.5% and is smooth to traverse.

The ramp ends at an underwater platform with a length of 90 cm, a width of 140 cm, and a swimming depth of 80 cm. The bottom of the swimming area is even, without obstacles that could cause tripping. The top step of the swimming pier is located approximately 50 cm above the pier surface. The width of the steps is over 60 cm, the rise is 12–15 cm, and the tread depth is 32–39 cm.

The distance from the nearest accessible parking space to the fishing pier is 130 m. There is accessible entry to the fixed pier without level differences, and it is sufficiently large. The surface materials are even and firm. The bridge features protective edges and railings. The height of the railing is 90.5 cm.

The playground and sports facilities in Hämeensaarenpuisto are also partially accessible in their functions. Some of the playground equipment can be used by people with mobility impairments while seated in a wheelchair. The base of these areas is a cast safety surface. The basketball court has an asphalt surface.
