Awards
The City of Hämeenlinna awards work that promotes culture, sports and active civic engagement as well as the advancement of sustainable development annually.
The awards are intended to thank and encourage individuals and communities that have carried out sustained and significant work for the benefit of the city.
Awards are granted by the Education and Wellbeing Committee, the Urban Environment Committee or a specially appointed committee, in accordance with the principles of each award. Some awards are granted to deserving recipients nominated by the public.
Culture and Sports Awards
The City of Hämeenlinna has awarded the Culture Award since 2008 and the Sports Award since 2011. The awards may be received by an individual or community from Hämeenlinna. The awards may also be granted to an actor or work that has promoted culture or sports in Hämeenlinna in a sustained manner.
