Bequest funds

Units of the City of Hämeenlinna may apply for funding from bequest funds to support activities that advance the objectives of the city. Funding may also be granted to a network partner.

The property of persons who die without heirs passes by inheritance to the State of Finland. If there is no need for the State to retain the property and there are no grounds to transfer it to a relative of the deceased, the property is transferred to the deceased’s municipality of residence. The funds are used for the purpose specified in the decision of the State Treasury.

Units of the City of Hämeenlinna may apply for funding from the above-mentioned funds to support activities that advance the objectives of the city. Funding may also be granted to a network partner upon a proposal of a city official.

The funding is intended for

  • supporting children, young people and families with children,
  • promoting participation and sense of community through culture and arts,
  • promoting health, well-being and everyday physical activity,
  • supporting the health, well-being and ability to live in home of the elderly,
  • refugee matters

Decisions on granting funding are made by sector directors and are prepared in cooperation with experts. The funding recipient is required to report on the impact of the activities.
