Erakkomurju rental lean-to
Erakkomurju is a lakeside lean-to shelter available for rent in the Tarus hiking area, located on the shore of Lake Kovero. It is ideal for peaceful hiking and overnight stays in the heart of nature.
The lean-to can accommodate up to 12 people. Inside, there is a fireplace, and firewood is included in the rental price. The wood shed is located separately. A dry toilet is available nearby.
Booking and Payment
The rental price for the lean-to is €69 per day. The rental period begins at 14:00 and ends at 12:00 the following day.
Location and arrival
The nearest address is Kelkutteentie 658, 17470 Maakeski. This address will take you to the vicinity, but you must hike to the lean-to. The lean-to cannot be reached by car. Please leave your car at the nearest parking area and continue on foot.
Please note that you cannot travel from the direction of Hämeenlinna through the Evo area, as the road is closed. Drive from Road 24 (Lahti–Jämsä) onto Taruksentie. The junction is approximately five kilometres from the Padasjoki ABC station towards Lahti.
Drive along Taruksentie for two kilometres and turn left at the Y-junction onto Kelkutteentie. Continue for approximately seven kilometres. The lean-to is located on the southern peninsula of Lake Kovero.
Weak network connection in the area
Bring a map to ensure you find your way easily. As mobile and internet connections are weak in the area, please bring a map either printed or downloaded to your phone.
Keys
Collect the key for the lean-to in advance. You can choose from two collection points:
- Hämeenlinna City Advisory Services, Service Point Kastelli, Wetterhoffinkatu 2 (please note that the service is closed at weekends)
- Café-Restaurant Modetti in Padasjoki, Keskustie 14 (key fee €5)
Please bring a form of identification and your booking confirmation.
Return the key to the same location where you collected it. You do not need to notify us in advance which point you will be using to collect the key.
Terms of use, booking, and cancellation
The renter is responsible for the lean-to and for ensuring that the instructions provided for the use of the space are followed
throughout the rental period. At the end of the rental period, the area must be tidied and the campfire extinguished.
The renter is liable for any damage caused by improper use of the facilities or
any potential cleaning costs. The use of the lean-to must not cause a disturbance to the environment, or damage
to the property or movable assets. Particular caution must be exercised during forest fire warnings.
It is not permitted to pitch tents or set up tent saunas within the grounds.
