Housing rules

Website for international residents

When living in an apartment building or a terraced house, it is important to comply with the house rules. The rules are the same for all residents. Their purpose is to ensure that living is safe, clean, and peaceful. When you follow the instructions, living is pleasant for both you and the other residents of the building.

Common Areas and Daily Life

  • Be considerate of neighbours. Avoid noise and disruptive behaviour
    • Observe quiet hours (usually from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Adhere to reserved shifts for the laundry room and sauna
  • Take care of your pets (no disturbance to others, keep on a leash outdoors)
  • Keep common areas clean
    • Do not leave belongings in the stairwell
    • Store items in your own locked storage space

Waste and Cleanliness

  • Sort waste correctly
    • Place bio-waste, paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, metal, and mixed waste into their respective containers
  • Furniture and electronics may not be left in the waste collection area. Take them to a sorting station yourself
    • The housing company may issue a charge if you leave incorrect waste in the waste collection area
  • Keep the waste collection area clean to prevent rats from entering

Recycling is Important

Please also remember that items in good condition are not waste. You can sell or donate them at flea markets, recycling centres, or online.

Pests and Animals

  • If you see pests (e.g., bedbugs or cockroaches), notify the property manager immediately
    • Cleaning helps prevent pests
    • If you buy second-hand items, inspect and clean them thoroughly before use
  • Do not feed animals on the balcony or in the yard to prevent rats from appearing

Apartment Maintenance

  • Pidä asunto yleisesti siistinä ja hyvässä kunnossa, myös nämä kuuluvat vuokralaisen velvollisuuksiin:
    • cleaning windows
    • cleaning and defrosting the refrigerator and freezer
    • cleaning the stove, extractor fan, and oven

  • Report defects and damages in the apartment to the property maintenance company and the property manager
  • Do not repair electrical appliances yourself. Always report them to the property maintenance company
