Employment subsidies for unemployed residents of Hämeenlinna

The City of Hämeenlinna grants subsidies for hiring unemployed jobseekers from Hämeenlinna. The subsidies are targeted at different groups under different conditions and are granted within the limits of available funding.

Before hiring an employee

• An employment contract may be made after the City of Hämeenlinna confirms to the recipient that funding is available for employing the individual in question.
• The company enters into an employment contract with the jobseeker in a normal manner and fulfills the employer obligations related to the employment relationship. The collective agreement of the relevant sector must be observed in the employment relationship.
• The recipient of the subsidy may be located in any municipality. The person to be employed must be from Hämeenlinna and must reside in Hämeenlinna for the duration of the subsidy period.
• The employer must notify the employment services coordinator without delay of any changes, for example if the client moves away from Hämeenlinna or the employment relationship is terminated before the end of the subsidy period.

Hämeenlinna Supplement

The Hämeenlinna Supplement is a subsidy that can be granted for hiring an unemployed jobseeker from Hämeenlinna. The Hämeenlinna Supplement may be applied for by a company, association, foundation, registered religious community or well-being services county.

Target groups:

• Unemployed jobseekers under 30 years of age from Hämeenlinna
• International unemployed jobseekers from Hämeenlinna
• Jobseekers who have been unemployed for over 400 days from Hämeenlinna

Subsidy conditions:

• Subsidy amount €400/month
• Salary must be at least €930/month
• Subsidy may be applied for employment relationships lasting over 6 months
• Subsidy is granted for 6 to 12 months
• Subsidy may be granted in addition to diverse recruitment subsidy (in Finnish)

Täsmä Supplement

The Täsmä Supplement is a subsidy that can be granted for hiring an unemployed jobseeker with partial work ability from Hämeenlinna. The Täsmä Supplement may be applied for by a company, association, foundation, registered religious community or well-being services county.

Subsidy conditions:

• Subsidy is granted only to job seekers with partial work ability from Hämeenlinna. A person with partial work ability is able to work when the work and tasks are adapted to their skills and functional capacity. The aim is to promote more permanent employment and support the employer in the initial phase of the employment relationship, for example in terms of orientation and task planning.
• Subsidy amount 50% of monthly salary, maximum subsidy amount €1,000/month
• No restriction on salary amount
• Subsidy is granted for 4 to 8 months
• May be granted as a continuation of pay subsidy (in Finnish) or in a new employment relationship, subsidy may be granted in addition to diverse recruitment subsidy (in Finnish)
