Principles of land use for shoreline housing enable, for example, the conversion of a holiday home into a permanent residence.
The appropriateness of the shoreline housing principles and the associated priority zone map has been re-evaluated, and regional boundaries have been revised based on feedback and experiences gained from the system. The revised principles and the expanded priority zone map were approved by the City Board on 21 February 2022 (§ 72).
Principles approved by the city on 21 February 2022:
According to the Land Use and Building Act, building on shorelines is only permitted if a detailed plan or a master plan intended for guiding construction has been prepared for the shoreline. If no plan exists, an exceptional permit is required for construction.
Building on shore areas can be guided by a shoreline detailed plan, which is prepared by the landowner.
