Anti-Racism Work
Hämeenlinna promotes equality and opposes racism as part of the We Speak Through Actions campaign. The goal is for everyone to feel welcome.
The City of Hämeenlinna has joined the Finnish Government’s We Speak Through Actions anti-racism campaign. The campaign invites everyone to help build an equal Finland where everyone can live and act free from discrimination.
By participating in the campaign, the City of Hämeenlinna commits to promoting concrete action against racism. Equality is a core part of the value base of our city strategy. Through it, we aim to support a good everyday life and equal opportunities for all.
Our goal is for every resident and visitor to feel welcome, valued, and important in Hämeenlinna. Anti-racism work supports this goal in everyday life, in services, and in decision-making.
The campaign strengthens the city’s anti-racism work and highlights the goals of the Equality and Non-Discrimination Plan for an Inclusive Hämeenlinna.
We also take part in the national Anti-Racism Week every year by organizing various events, occasions, and workshops in cooperation with partners.
