Environmental protection permits and notices

Environmental protection services process applications and notices regarding activities that pose a risk of environmental pollution and monitor these operations.

Whether you need a permit, a notice, or registration depends on the scale and impact of your operations. Before submitting an application, contact the City of Hämeenlinna’s environmental protection services to determine which permits your activities require. You can contact the registry by email at kaupunkirakenne@hameenlinna.fi.

Environmental protection fees

The processing of permits and notifications, as well as permit monitoring, is generally subject to a fee. Please see the City of Hämeenlinna environmental protection authority’s fee and land extraction fees.

Notice of change in operations

Changes in the operator, the start of operations, or changes to operations must be reported to environmental protection services. Submit the notice using the electronic form below.

Annual reporting

Activities subject to environmental permits, notices, or registration must be reported annually to environmental protection services. The deadline and the information to be reported are specified in the environmental permit or notice decision. For activities subject to registration, the reporting details and deadline are set by sector-specific regulations. Submit the annual report via the YLVA system, by email to the registry at kaupunkirakenne@hameenlinna.fi, or by post.

Activities subject to land extraction permits must be reported annually to environmental protection services. The report must include the amount and quality of land materials extracted during the previous year. The reporting deadline is specified in the land extraction permit decision. Submit the report to the NOTTO information system.
