Block 14 (bus station)

The plan alteration concerns the entirety of Block 14 in the city center (District 4). Block 14 is home to the bus station. The detailed plan alteration was initiated in the 2025 zoning review, in connection with the HAMK city center campus project.
The city’s goal is to develop the bus station plot as continuing to serve as a bus terminal and also potentially as a future location for Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK).
Despite several attempts, the new construction planned near the existing bus station building has not been realised. The solution presented in the current plan is unsuitable. From the perspective of city center development, the bus station block is a key site.
