Detailed plan alteration no. 2633.
Housing is planned on the plot of the Hämeen Sanomat office building, located at Vanajankatu 7. The new housing construction would be situated on the shoreline of Luukkaanlahti – north of the office building. Preliminary plans commissioned by the landowner propose placing five apartment buildings, 5-7 stories high, near the shoreline. Space will also be reserved for the southern shoreline route through land exchanges.
Zoning was initiated at the landowner’s request.

The detailed plan alteration was initiated in the 2024 zoning review.
Draft stage
The Urban Environment Committee decided on 19 August 2025 to display the plan draft for 30 days.
The plan draft was on display 28 August–26 September 2025
Proposal stage
The Urban Environment Committee decided on 25 August 2026 to display the zoning proposal.
The zoning proposal was on display 3 September–2 October 2026
